Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP is looking to add to the strength of its National Information Technology department. FMC Law is currently seeking an intermediate-level Microsoft .NET developer for a nine (9) month contract to work with our development team to maintain and develop our internal applications. The role reports directly to the Manager, IT Practice Support Services and will be required to contribute to the National Information Technology department.
Web Developer
Role Overview:
• Development of internal applications (individually or as part of a team) using .NET and SharePoint technologies
• Build web parts, custom SharePoint Workflows
• Performs changes to intranet site templates/master pages
• Evaluates integration opportunities
• Ability to understand a problem from both a business and technical standpoint and provide creative and efficient solutions
Specific Skills:
• .NET framework (C#, ASP.Net)
• SharePoint 2007/2010 (Administration and Development)
• HTML, XSL, CSS, JavaScript and XML programming skills
• SQL Server 2005 / 2008
• Windows 2003, 2008 and IIS 6 & 7
Management & Communication
• Ability to work independently and to manage a heavy workload to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Required to properly estimate projects while supporting day to day needs of the business (applications) and be able to prioritize, juggle and communicate any changes to schedules in a timely manner
• Ability to work and liaise with third party vendors
Other Experience (not required, but an asset):
• JQuery
• AJAX
• Web Part Development
• Site Page and Master Page development
• SharePoint designer
Candidates should have post-secondary education either at the University or college level although practical experience should be noted. ITIL, Microsoft and other industry certifications are an asset.
