National Forestry Authority (NFA) was established by the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act 2003 to conserve, develop and manage the Central Forest Reserves and to supply quality forestry-related products and services. NFA manages Central Forest Reserves in partnership with Government, private sector and local communities.NFA is seeking to fill the following positions:
POSITION: FOREST SUPERVISORS (2 POSTS)
Reports to: Sector Manager
Duty Station: Field Offices
Salary Scale: 5
Terms of Employment: 3 years contract (Renewable)
Job Summary:
Taking full charge of a beat by ensuring its security and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise the harvesting of forest resources;
• Prepare weekly activity schedules and targets and ensure their accomplishments
• Participate in preparation and supervision of local contracts where applicable, and certify completion of work
• Conduct and supervise forest patrols
• Prepare and submit situational and weekly reports to Sector Manager
• Develop and implement the fire plan in accordance with established guidelines
Job requirement
Minimum Qualifications, skills and experience:
• Minimum of a Diploma in Forestry from recognised institutions
• 2 Years working experience in a related field is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Forestry products and services
