Are you passionate about food, and interested in federal politics? Are
you an organizer who believes in bringing grassroots input to policy
change? Then maybe you are the organizer we are looking for to run a
Food Secure Canada election campaign that will engage our members from
coast to coast in conversations about food with candidates for federal
political office. This campaign organizer will be
at the centre of a
national educational campaign about food featuring dozens of events
–Meals for Change – designed to build support and momentum towards
better food for all.
Food Secure Canada is a national membership organization devoted to
three goals: zero hunger, healthy and safe food, sustainable food

Start date: As soon as possible
Location: ideally Montreal
Duration of contract: 6 months
Qualifications
• Enthusiastic, bilingual organizer
• Good knowledge of federal politics but not involved in partisan politics
• Excellent website skills, including HTML,
• Great communications and interpersonal skills
• Experience in communications, marketing, campaigns for non-profit or
other relevant organizations
• Proficiency in social media, google analytics, website management, photoshop
• Undergraduate degree in relevant field (eg. political science,
communications)
• Strong sense of visual communication and experience creating
promotional materials
• Experience with media relations
• Background in community mobilization or engagement
Assets
• Knowledge of food movement and federal political scene
• Familiarity with collective impact framework
• Graphic skills
• Fundraising skills, including online solicitation
• Familiarity with Drupal and CiviCRM or with Nation Builder
