Services (DRIS) will work with the Executive office and report into Chief Information Officer. The position will be responsible for the appropriateness of IS (Information Services) solutions in all FINCA subsidiaries in the region through the shared services center (FINCAServices – Africa). The position’s primary responsibility will be to plan and drive IS strategy at regional level, coordinate, manage and resolve issues that affect day-to-day business, and where appropriate to escalate to those concerned in a timely manner so as not to put IT services and projects at risk; to promote IT standards and best practices to affiliate IS managers; and to work closely with the affiliate IS managers to ensure that the affiliate systems are properly managed and administered in conformance with the documented guidelines. The position will also be responsible for the administration of regional IS teams and those of shared services center (FINCAServices – Africa) where appropriate; working closely with other contracted vendors to provide and manage various IS solutions timely and within budget.

Ideal profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent, Master’s degree or MBA highly desirable.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems and operating systems.
• Strong MS-Project skills, including good working knowledge of MS-Office and Visio, excellent planning and organizational skills
• 8 -10 years of IT management experience minimum in managing either medium to large business related projects within the financial services sector, or medium to large technology related projects, in leading client facing critical technology projects that involve business and technology change
• 5 years of technology experience minimum gained from either a software vendor, mobile computing vendor, or a financial services organization are highly desirable
• Experience in developing and managing project budgets, knowledge of business case development including cost/benefit analysis, NPV, and current and future state assessment
• Experience with internet and client-server technologies
• Experience with Windows, Unix/Linux operating systems
• Network management (LAN/WAN, Intranet/Internet, Satellite, VPN)
• IT security experience (authentication and authorization, auditing, data encryption)
• Expertise in specialized microfinance software a plus
• In depth knowledge of corporate and retail banking infrastructure, including extensive work with core banking systems. At least one core banking system implementation is preferred.
• Familiarity with enterprise application implementation, integration, and management
• Proven ability to manage 7×24 operations for banking, call centers, and transaction processing.
• Fluency in English
• Ability and willingness to travel to developing countries, the position requires 70% of travel
