Accountant
Reporting to the Head of
Finance & Administration
Role: To ensure that
compliance with pol

icies, procedures, rules and regulations are set by the
Federation.

He
(she) is also in charge of:
  1. Participate
    in preparation and monitor the annual operating budgets, and control its
    execution in compliance with the Finance rules and procedures.
  2. Ensure
    proper receipt and custody of funds, supported by appropriate
    vouchers Payments for goods and services,
  3. Receive
    and check conformity and accuracy of payments requests,
  4. Ensure
    proper disbursement of funds is supported by appropriate vouchers,
  5. Ensure
    safe custody of payments voucher Financial Management and reporting,
  6. Ensure
    the existence of strong Internal Controls in fund allocation, budgetary
    commitments, authorizations and payments,
  7. Prepare
    the Cash Book and General Ledger using an appropriate accounting software
    to produce Revenue and expenditure reports and other financial statements,
  8.  Prepare
    bank reconciliation statements at the end of each month,
  9. Prepare
    complete, accurate and timely financial reports and statements in
    accordance with mandatory deadlines,
  10. Participate
    in Internal and External Audit exercises and assist them in their
    respective functions
  11. Any
    other task he/she may be assigned by his/her superior.
Qualifications,
attributes and skills
The
candidate will:
  1. Have
    a degree qualified in a field related to Accounting (ideal);
  2. Have
    a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accounting;
  3. Have
    knowledge and understanding of accounting operations.
  4. Be
    proficient in the use of MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel and
    Word;
  5. Have
    excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including English
    language fluency;
  6. Have
    strong interpersonal skills and be able to meet with and interact
    successfully.
  7. Be
    dependable, cooperative and a team-player;
  8. Be
    able to work independently, pro-actively and have a ‘hands-on’ approach;
  9. Have
    strong project management skills;
  10. Be
    able to interpret and analyze the business environment to support the
    Federations in Finance process;
  11. Have
    excellent task-management skills, able to set and meet deadlines and
    multi-task effectively; and
  12. Have
    knowledge of sport, especially football.
