Organization: Fertile Ground CSA

Location: Waterloo, Ontario
We currently have one intern and are looking for one additional short-season intern to work with us for the summer months: mid/late June until late August.
Interns live in town and commute the 15km to the farm every working day. Shared housing & rides can be provided. (Also accessible by bike.)
Fertile Ground was begun directly out of a CRAFT internship and is now entering its 3rd season of operation. If you’re serious about considering a future in farming and interested in gaining perspective on what it means to begin a small-scale farm operation, we may have a good match. As an intern, you would be involved in learning and taking responsibility for tasks from greenhouse management to field work to CSA and market distribution. We will work together to develop an educational focus and level of responsibility that matches your experience level & interests. Because of our transportation needs, we do require that our interns have a G or G2 license.
Our internship is offered as part of the CRAFT Ontario internship program, so our intern has the opportunity to participate in monthly educational field trips with other farm interns. We also allow for 1 additional off-farm educational day each month. Please refer to the CRAFT Ontario website for information about the program. We are in the SW Region.
We provide room & board + monthly stipend of $300 (higher stipend available for someone with a full season’s farming experience).
