Farm Africa is
currently seeking an experienced project manager to join our team in Uganda.
The post-holder will responsible for managing and delivering a three year
project to improve livelihoods and incomes of 1,000 farmers in Teso sub-region
through developing the production, processing a
nd marketing of orange-fleshed
sweet potatoes (OFSP).
The project manager
will be based in Soroti, and will be working independently although they will
receive some administrative and logistical support from the wider team who are
engaged on other projects. This is a varied and hands-on role which includes
project planning and reporting, hands-on delivery and working with our partner
organisation to build their business capacity.
Suitable candidates
will have a degree in agribusiness or a related field, and a minimum of three
years’ experience of implementing agricultural marketing projects with
smallholder farmers. Detailed knowledge of the OFSP value chain would be an
advantage. In addition, practical experience of capacity building small
farmer-focused organisations will also be required.
