DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the Chief
Technical Advisor, the technical guidance of the Lead Technical Officer, ESN,
and in close coordination with ESA, will coordinate the implementation of
activities for the achievement of Output 3 of the project.

In particular, the
incumbent will:

- Provide technical support to countries in
mainstreaming nutrition in their national food security and agricultural
policies and investment plans (in particular National Programmes for Food
Security CAADP Compacts and investment plans); Support agriculture sector
engagement in national coordination mechanisms on nutrition, linking with
the REACH partnership and SUN Movement; Document experience of countries
which are placing Nutrition and the Right to Food on their political
agenda to be shared to stimulate commitment at regional level and provide
incentives for other countries to act; On Government request carry out
country specific technical assistance missions and participate in regional
events on food and nutrition security; Develop tools and guidelines
designed to strengthen the food and nutrition security impact of
programmes; Design and hold capacity development events for staff of
regional agencies (CILSS, RAAF and WAHO) to enhance agriculture and
nutrition linkages and facilitate inter-country knowledge exchange on food
and nutrition security; Support collaboration between ECOWAS and the NPCA
(NEPAD Secretariat), in particular the NPCA Food and Nutrition Security
Unit; Perform other project tasks as may be required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

experience in food and nutrition security analysis, policies and programmes;
