POSITION SUMMARY & CORE EXPECTATIONS
We seek a Communications intern to work closely with the Communications team on media and social media
outreach and to assist in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with media relations, social media, data entry, research and writing. He or she will be working in a large team, and needs to be flexible, work well under pressure, be an excellent communicator, and be able to take direction from managers and campaigners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Blogger, social media and some media outreach
– Maintaining media contact database
– Tracking media coverage and distribution of media clippings
– Issue research and analysis
– Participation in Communications team activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Proficient in using social media tools for creating social change
– Experience in media relations and cold calling
– Excellent writing, presentation and creative skills
– Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
– Familiarity with environmental issues is an asset
– College or university degree in a related field or in progress

This is a 4-month unpaid internship starting immediately.
