The Eco Centre is currently looking for a Full-Ti
me Head Culinary Chef
to manage and grow our kitchen and catering services. We are strong
believers in farm to table and always go the extra mile to ensure we
are buying directly from farmers. The ideal candidate will love
northern Ontario, be passionate about great local food, be a skilled
teacher and have the resourcefulness to help broaden the Eco Centre’s
fantastic reputation for great local food.
Job Description:
• The Head Culinary Chef is in charge of running a high quality
kitchen with a locally sourced menu items. Ensure that sanitation and
safety standards are observed and comply with local regulations and
ensure that the food service establishment runs efficiently and
profitably.
• Seeks partnerships with local farmers.
• Supervise apprentice cooks when required.
• Prepare food daily accordingly to client expectations, set daily
breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets menus, consult with clients,
change menus seasonally, prepare cost estimates, assist with setting
work schedules, ordering and manage inventories, develop signature
recipes, plan culinary retreats and engage with clients.
• Develop Temiskaming signature recipes, menus and culinary workshops;
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
Candidates should possess a wealth of culinary and management
knowledge typically gained through an accredited college or university
program, have a minimum of 5 years kitchen and catering experience.

Salary $42, 000 to $50,000 per annum
