Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with planning and running all exploration in the Project area as directed by Senior Exploration Geologist and Exploration Manager;
• Plan (in conjunction with senior exploration geologist), monitor and account for exploration expenditure within the Project area with regular reports to senior management;
• Assist in timetabling of annual exploration program to ensure results based exploration and the optimum use of time and resources;
• Assist in coordinating and supervising the duties of exploration junior staff and casual laborers to ensure the most effective use of the workforce;
• Coordinate, dispatch and monitor all samples to the lab;
• Liaise with Contractor personnel to ensure smooth interaction of exploration activities;
• Ensure established company safety and environmental policies and procedures are upheld;
• Provide recommendations to the Senior Exploration Geologist that will further optimize the efficiency of the operation;
• Organize and prepare technical, monthly and quarterly detailed reports.
Basic Qualifications:
• Recognized Degree in Geology, with computer skills;
• 5-7 years’ experience as a geologist in the exploration and mining industry is an advantage;
• Sound knowledge of the exploration process;
• Good organizational and forward planning skills;
• Good computer skills – database, geological software, GIS;
• Excellent technical skills – structural geology, geochemistry, geophysics, mapping, logging of lithology;
• High standards of time and man management skills;
• Good communication skills, presentation and written;
• Safety conscious and pro-active.
