of lives and properties as experienced in Ibadan metropolis recent years. It
can also lead to land and water pollution, through deposition of sediment and
refuses indiscriminately.

land erosion as follows.

livestock, due to drowning in erosion channel.

Eutrophication of water bodies like
lakes and reservoirs by which they are suddenly made nutrient rich by the
materials washed in for them through flood water. This gives rise to algae
growth, decay of dead organic matters at the bottom depletion of oxygen and
death of fish and other aquatic organisms.
