EDC’s
International Development Division (IDD) focuses on three major areas: literacy
and basic education, youth livelihoods and workforce development, and health.
Another key strand of EDC’s international work focuses on helping countries
expand economic opportunity and build civic society.
EDC
works with governments, agencies, and other partners in 35 countries to develop
programs that are respectful of cultural traditions and beliefs. The
international division comprises six regional centers coordinating EDC’s work
in West and Central Africa, East and Southern Africa, North Africa and the
Middle East, Latin Am

erica and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Central Asia,
and South and Southeast Asia.

At
the moment, EDC is preparing for a complex basic education project focused on
improved improve early grade reading and writing outcomes in Malawi.
Monitoring,
Evaluation and Learning Specialist
  • Demonstrated
    experience in overseeing a monitoring, evaluation and learning system of
    broadly comparable scale and scope to that required for MERIT.
  • Demonstrated
    experience in relevant data collection and processing methodologies, and
    with regard to ensuring data quality.
  • Experience
    working with local organizations to ensure effective ME&L and that all
    ME&L requirements flow down appropriately.
  • Experience
    working within Malawi and a demonstrated understanding of the country
    context.
  • Demonstrated
    relevant technical abilities necessary for high-quality ME&L.
  • At
    minimum, the ME&L Specialist must possess strong demonstrated
    capacities for spatial analysis including the use of geographic
    information systems.
  • Significant
    experience with ME&L for reading assessments and analysis.
