Salary Range: $32.34 to $42.45 per hour as per UNA Collective Agreement Department: Continuing Care
Hours of work: Days/Nights (0700-1900/1900-0700 hours)
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse participates in nursing assessments, interventions and patient care planning. Responsible for carrying out prescribed treatments, administering medications, and the evaluation of treatments. Other duties required in this role include monitoring and documenting treatment progress and patient response, coordinating care with other health care providers on the interdisciplinary team and teaching and discharge planning. Registered Nurses are accountable for their own actions and for ensuring they provide safe and competent care while being able to demonstrate the ability to provide compassionate and quality care to residents.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing required.
Active registration with College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Level C is required.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; and experience in long term care.
Knowledge in meeting care requirements of geriatric population.
Certificate in Gerontology is preferred.
