Edinburgh Global Japan Earthquake Masters Scholarships, UK

Following
the devastating earthquake and tsunami which struck the east coast of Japan on
Friday 11th March 2011, the University will offer up to six Master’s
scholarships for students from the Tohoku, Northern Kanto, and Hokkaido regions
undertaking a postgraduate Master’s degree programme offered by the University
of Edinburgh in the academic session 2012-2013.


The
scholarship will provide an award of £10,000 towards tuition fees and will be
tenable for one academic session.

Eligibility

The
scholarship will be awarded to a Japanese citizen who is normally resident in
the Tohoku, Northern Kanto, and Hokkaido regions; has resided there for a
minimum of three years; and who is accepted for admission on a full-time basis
for study on a Master’s programme in any subject offered by the University of
Edinburgh.

Procedure

Eligible
applicants should complete an online scholarship application.

The closing
date for applications for these scholarships is 2 April 2012.

Please
note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you
have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE
authentication.

Selection
Procedure

The
winners of the scholarship will be announced in late June 2012.
