The Child Sponsorship Officer will actively contribute to the development,
planning and implementation of both local and international child-sponsorship
programmes for Dwelling Places.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- The
incumbent will coordinate the letter writing process in line with the CSP
Letter writing procedure - Assist
in seeking and maintaining local and international sponsors for DP
children - Ensure
all sponsors are appropriately updated with accurate information on each
child - Work
closely with main office (Uganda) to arrange receipt of all letters and photos
from & of children. - Responsible
for keeping the main office (Uganda) updated on new sponsors & other
relevant information - Assist
CSI team in developing products and services to existing donors,
contributing towards the growth of our international donor base and
supporters and income - Work
with PR in the development and implementation of international
fundraising activities - Develop
marketing material, i.e., brochures, fundraising packages, specifically
for Child Sponsorship. - Maintain
communication with potential and current sponsors - Update
and maintain child sponsorship database, meet with social workers for the
monthly CSP update - Oversee
letter writing to sponsors (quarterly), liaise with education and social
welfare department. - Write
annual reports to sponsors including an updated picture and status of
their sponsored child. - Collect,
record and distribute gifts in line with the gifts procedure - Work
with the Volunteers’ coordinator in responding to requests for child
sponsorship - Update
the children’s CSP photos annually - Review
all the CSP policies and procedures and make recommendations for
improvement - Transfer
all the children’s data from the hard files to the electronic database and
update it accordingly - Write
and submit the CSP monthly report promptly.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

- The
applicant for the Dwelling Places (DP) Child Sponsorship Officer job
opportunity should preferably hold a university degree or diploma in
Journalism and mass communication or social work and administration - At
least three years of related work experience - Previous
marketing skills is preferred - Previous
exposure and experience in customer service is an added advantage - Previous
experience in handling money - Experience
in fundraising and proposal writing is an added advantage - Excellent
verbal and written communication skills - Excellent
organizational and follow-through skills - Ability
to manage finances - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Ability
to persuasively solicit support - Creative
thinking - ICT
skills required
