The Opportunity
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), the leader in wetland conservation, is
looking for a creative communications specialist to manage and produce
content for our web and social media platforms.
Your responsibilities will includ
e:
• Maintaining the currency, effectiveness and impact of DUC’s digital
platforms.
• Working closely with other members of the communications team to
engage DUC’s supporters and new audiences through interactive and
dynamic digital content.
• Assisting in the design and production of all digital content
(website, social media, internal and external communications
products).
• Overseeing content management of digital communications, marketing
and membership material on a daily basis.
• Collaborating with all departments to ensure material is relevant and timely.
• Embracing an integrated content strategy that contributes material
to all DUC communications platforms such as the Conservator and eDUC
newsletter.
You are a self-motivated, energetic collaborator who thrives in a
fast-paced environment. In addition to possessing strong
organizational and interpersonal skills, you are a creative problem
solver with an ability to work cross-functionally and proactively
identify areas where support can be provided.
The ability to meet deadlines, the capacity to handle a high volume
workload and strong project management skills are vital in this role.
Requirements
• A degree or diploma with a focus on journalism, creative
communications or related field.
• Excellent web design, writing and video editing skills.
• Strong understanding of web-based technologies and platforms.
• Content management skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• A creative web focus including a background in Adobe Photoshop &
WordPress
• Previous experience working for a conservation or environmental
organization would be considered an asset.
Your minimum three years of directly related experience make you the
ideal candidate for this position, which is located at our offices at
Oak Hammock Marsh, just north of Winnipeg. Your ability to see the
bigger picture will make you a great asset to our team.
The successful candidate will have an affinity to the outdoors,
conservation and the world of waterfowl.
