Drew Cares International Volunteer Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Nurses Jobs Vacancies in Rwanda

 
The Mission of Drew Cares International-Rwanda is to build local
capacity for leadership in high quality, evidence-based, sustainable health
programs in resource poor settings; to enhance the capacity of the Rwandan Defense
Forces (RDF) and others to prevent HIV and provide high quality care and
treatment to people living with HIV in Rwanda.

• Provide
  client education in VMMC and HIV;
• Obtain
  the client’s medical history and conducts a physical examination;
• Secure
  informed consent from clients or the parent/guardian prior to VMMC;
• Prepare
  the client and minor surgical theater for VMMC;
• Restock
  supplies, decontaminates instruments and equipment, autoclave;
• Conduct
  VMMC using surgical method;
• Conduct
  VMMC using Prepex;
• Prepare
  and dresses wounds;
• Provide
  and reinforces postoperative messages;
• Complete
  operation notes and other client record forms;
• Conduct
  client follow-up visits;
• Participate
  in QA activities;
• Communicate
  regularly with DCI-Rwanda Office in Kigali;
• Produce
  monthly or any other VMMC related reports;
• Perform
  any other assignments as may be required by your supervisor.

• Should
  have at least an A2 Certificate in nursing
• Should
  have at least 2 years experience in male circumcision
• Training
  on Male Circumcision provision with certificate is required
• Ability
  to maintain personal dignity and dignifying others
• Demonstrate
  excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability
  to read/write  Kinya-rwanda and either English or French
• Ability
  to work under minimum supervision
• Computer
  literacy

• Ability
  to work effectively with a diverse community.
• Willing
  to work anywhere in the country as occasions might demand
