Doctoral Scholarships of Energy Education Trust of New Zealand

The University of Auckland is offering
International scholarships in the Faculty of Business and Economics
(undertaking studies related to the field of energy) in New Zealand. The
Scholarships are open to both domestic and international students. The basis of
selection will be academic merit, research ability and the applicant’s research
interests. Application by form is made to the Scholarship Office no later
than 1 March in the year of the award.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided in the Faculty of Business and Economics,
(related to the field of energy) at University of Auckland in New Zealand.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing doctoral
degree level at  the University of Auckland in New Zealand.
Scholarship Provider: The scholarships are financed through
the Energy Centre at the University of Auckland.
Scholarship can be taken at: New Zealand.
Eligibility:  
-The Scholarships will be awarded to part-time or
full-time doctoral students in the Faculty of Business and Economics at The
University of Auckland undertaking studies related to the field of energy.
– The Scholarships are open to both domestic and international students.
– The basis of selection will be academic merit, research ability and the
applicant’s research interests.
– As part of their application, applicants are required to submit a
comprehensive CV, a statement of their research interests and experience and
official transcripts of prior study, if such prior study has not been
undertaken at The University of Auckland.
Scholarship Open for International Students: The domestic and international students can apply for this
scholarship.
Scholarship Description: This scholarship was established in 2003 and is financed through the
Energy Centre at The University of Auckland. To promote research and academic
excellence in the energy sector which will benefit community and business
interests by supporting research at The University of Auckland. This second
round is offered in 2013 exclusively for students planning on enrolling in the
Faculty of Business & Economics. The Scholarships will be awarded by
the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of a Selection
Committee comprising the Director of the Energy Centre (or nominee), the Dean
of Business and Economics, (or nominee) and one representative of The Energy
Education Trust of New Zealand. The Scholarship’s emolument will be paid
in two equal installments: one in the first, and one in the second semester. The
University of Auckland Council has power to terminate or suspend a Scholarship,
if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a scholar from the
Director of the Energy Centre or the candidate’s supervisor. The
University of Auckland Council is not obliged to make an award if, in any year,
there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The University of Auckland
Council has the power, with the prior consent of the Energy Education Trust of
New Zealand, to amend or vary these regulations provided there is no departure
from the main purpose of the scholarship. Applications for the Scholarship
must reach the Scholarships Office no later than 5pm on 1 March in the year of
the award. If the closing date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday,
applications will be accepted up to 5pm on the next working day.
Number of award(s): A maximum of six scholarships can be held in any given calendar year.
Additional scholarships may be held if the funds are available.
Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for up to 3 years.
What does it cover? Total offer is of  up to $8,000 each per annum.
Selection criteria: The basis of selection will be academic merit, research ability
and the applicant’s research interests.
 Notification: Approximately six weeks after closing date by letter. 
 How to Apply: Applications can be sent in person or by post.
Scholarship Application Deadline: Application by form is made to the Scholarship Office no later than on March
1, 2014.
