Diseases associated with water

1.   
Water
borne disease: Here diseases are contracted by drinking; water contaminated
with disease agents e.g. typhoid fever, dysentery, cholera etc.
2.   
Water
washed diseases: are transmitted to man as a result of inadequate or lack of
water supply. They are associated with personal hygiene and cleanliness. e.g.
scabies, eczema, skin rashes, conjunctivitis etc.

3.   
Water-based
or water-impounding: the agents of the diseases spend parts of their life cycle
in water. They infect man when man wades through water or drink water
containing their Cyclops. E.g. include, schistosomiasis, drancuculus
medinensis, paragonimiasis, fascioliasis etc.
4.   
Water
arthropods diseases: the disease here occurs as a result of the bite of vector
which breed in water or bite near water e.g. malaria fever, yellow fever,
typanosomiasis, onchocerchiasis etc.
