Servicom was set up by the federal
Government of Nigeria in June 2003 in recognition of citizen’s right and
entitlements to good service delivery. It gives Nigerians the right to demand
good services. These rights are contained in servicom charters which are now
available in all Government agencies where services are provided to the public.
The charters tell the public what to expect and what to do if the service fails
or falls short of their expectations. Servicom is a presidential initiative by
president Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, and the obvious reason for the initiatives is
to ensure that things are done transparently, equitably and efficiently.
