The Development Fund (DF) of Norway is
an independent Norwegian Environment and Development organization that works
for a sustainable and just world without hunger and poverty in collaboration
with international and local partners. For a fourth year running, DF is
implementing a programme for young women to undergo internships in Development
Fund’s partner organisations based in Malawi. The overall goal of the
internship is to increase the number of women in leadership and decision-making
positions in Malawi.

Successful applicants will be placed in
any of the partner organisations for a maximum of one year. The interns will be
oriented through all departments to gain an overview of the operations of the
organisation before they specialise in their chosen area of interest.

DF will provide a monthly modest
stipend to the trainee during the period of training. Testimonials and/or
certificates of completion shall be awarded to interns upon successful
completion of the programme.

The interns are expected to benefit
from the skills acquired through the scheme as they will be better positioned
to start off their career that will lead to leadership positions in any
organisation. The partner organization where the intern has been attached for
the determined period will have no obligations towards the intern after the
agreed period.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants
should possess a first Degree in either of the following areas; Agriculture,
Community Development, Environmental Sciences, Finance/Accounting, Law, Natural
Resources Management, Arts (Humanities), Economics, Social Sciences and any
development related studies.
