Immediate Contract
Design & Build are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified Traffic Engineers who are seeking a temporary opportunity located in the south-eastern suburbs of metropolitan Victoria. This municipality, located within the vibrant south-eastern corridor, characterised by strong building activity and rapid population growth has an opening for an experienced Traffic Engineer who will be tasked with playing a pivotal role in providing an efficient and effective delivery of traffic and transportation engineering services within this municipality.
As the municipalities Traffic Engineer you will be reporting directly into the Team Leader of Traffic Operations and will assist in providing high quality traffic management, advice and recommendations in relation to traffic, road safety and parking issues.
Duties will include:
• Undertake investigations and prepare reports in response to Council and public requests
• Participate in the development of traffic management schemes
• Maintain traffic records, including; updating of current information, speed, pedestrian and cyclist surveys
• Assist with arranging all new street lighting
• Assess town planning applications with regard to traffic impact
• Prepare conceptual designs for traffic engineering works and cost estimates
• Assist in the preparation of design documentation for traffic projects
Requirements include:
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Working knowledge of Road Safety Regulations, Local Government Act, Road Rules – Victoria and knowledge of relevant VicRoads Standards and traffic engineering guidelines
• Preferably gained experience working within local government
• Victorian drivers license
