start
Melbourne’s south eastern fringe seeks a qualified and competent Statutory
Planner to join the team on a contract basis to assist with a busy workload for
2 to 3 months.
Degree qualified in Town Planning, you must have an understanding of Victorian
planning schemes, legislation and policy, and enough experience working within
local government in Victoria to hit the ground running, working on your own
caseload of applications with minimum supervision.
Self-motivated and resourceful, you will be practiced in statutory approval
processes for a wide range of land use and development applications. Providing
high level customer service, technical and general planning advice to various
stakeholders, you must have previous experience in the following:
• Ideally, you will have gained previous experience working with an inner
metropolitan council in Victoria
• Evaluating and processing town planning applications
• Performing site visits to assist assessment of planning applications
• Preparing comprehensive and accurate planning application reports and appeal
submissions
• Assessing amendments to planning permits
• Providing preliminary planning advice to applicants and conducting
pre-application meetings
• Counter and telephone enquiries
In addition to excellent technical planning knowledge and the ability to
effectively apply this understanding to a variety of development applications,
you will also demonstrate a commitment to high level customer service, well
developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability and
confidence to mediate, negotiate and resolve conflict.
