The MAC:CSWD
provides advice and recommendations to the Minister for Education and Child
Development on a range of issues related to children and students with
disability in Early Childhood Education and Care settings and schools,
including the allocation and application of

government grants issues, policy
that assists children and student with disability to access and participate
fully in sites and schools, and other matters referred to it by the Minister.

The committee
conducts research, and manages projects as required or approved by the
Minister. It develop plans, guidelines, strategies and resources for children
and students with disability, their families, educators, disability service
providers and other relevant stakeholders which assist children and students
with disability to access and participate in education and society on the same
basis as their peers without disability The committee establishes and maintains
partnerships with educators, education systems and authorities, early childhood
services, schools, tertiary institutions, disability service providers and
non-government organisations in South Australia, nationally and
internationally. It also engages with students, families and the wider South
Australian community.

Special
Conditions:

  • Interstate
    and intrastate travel may be required.
  • Extensive
    out of hours work may be required.
  • Current
    driver’s licence and the willingness to drive is a requirement.
  • The
    incumbent will be required to achieve performance targets as negotiated and
    mutually agreed with the Program Manager, Performance Reviews.
  • The
    successful applicant will be required, before commencement of their
    tenure, to have a DCSI child-related employment screening check. This
    screening will be required to be updated every three years or as requested
    by the appropriate line manager throughout the tenure of the position.
  • The
    successful applicant will need to show proof of having undertaken or proof
    of being registered to undertake the Responding to Abuse and Neglect
  • Education
    and Care full day training course and the updated online course posted
    online every three years.
