Job Summary
To develop and foster a sound employee relations/communication strategy through
monitoring and analyzing the workplace, company policies, procedures and
practices, and advising management accordingly.
Requirements
Minimum
Requirements
- Degree
in Social Sciences or equivalent. - 7 years
post graduate experience in Human Resource Management, of which 2 should
have been at middle management level in employee relations or generic HR
environment - Middle
Management Development Programme or equivalent - Employee
Relations and Labour Law principles - Collective
Bargaining and Negotiating Skills

Key
Activities
- Develops
and implements an Employee Relations strategic plan for the operation
which facilitates enhancement of employer-employee relationships. - Advises
and guides the Company in all facets of employee relations, ensuring
fairness and consistent application of all applicable labour laws. - Monitors
the consistent application of procedural and substantive fairness in
grievance and disciplinary issues. - Facilitates
and participates in the negotiation process on substantive and operational
issues and advises the company’s negotiating team. - Represents
the company in various third party disputes e.g mediation, arbitration and
at the Industrial Court. - Audits
HR policies and procedures, collective Labour Agreements, and recommends
changes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory
instruments. - Identifies
capacity building needs for all relevant stakeholders, and develops
appropriate interventions to address the deficiency. - Researches
and analyses trends on employee relations climate and makes appropriate
recommendations on changes, and/or implements necessary changes. - Manages
team members’ key effectiveness area and takes remedial action where
necessary. - Analyses
the divisional area’s financial needs to develop a budget and ensure
sufficient financial resources to meet business needs.
