Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, independent humanitarian organisation working on aspects of durable solutions and promoting human security and implements programs that are aligned In support of National strategy for development assistance to refugee hosting areas in Adjumani, Moyo ,Yumbe Koboko, Maracha and Arua Districts in Westnile Region. Danish Deming Group as a department within DRC is working in Karamoja to reduce armed violence by positively changing attitudes of communities towards security and making them actively participate in management of security in corporation with the state security providers(for information go to www.drc.dk)

Danish Refugee Council/Danish Demining Group in a bid to ensure sustainable achievement our mission is seeking to recruit dynamic and experienced person to fill the positions of;

Engineering Assistants (2 positions)

General Role
The main objective of the position is the management and inspections of quality road are constructed to the target beneficiaries as per the standard requirements.

Responsibility and Specific Tasks.
The construction of prototypes carried out, culvert installation and inspection.
• Carry out road condition assessment of community access roads together with district engineering department.
• Carry out monthly road condition assessment and report to the responsible authorities.
• Supervising of plant and opening of new roads, buildings and other infrastructures
• Carry out site supervision and preparation of bills of quantities.
• Take records of all infrastructures maintained and prepare monthly progress report.
• Take measurement of the work done, to certify quality by the contractors
• Ensure work is done according to the technical specifications & drawing during implementation
• Prepare completion report together with the Engineering Officer

Requirement:
Qualifications:
• Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution.
• Have certificate in Roads inspection course Part 1 and Part 11.
• Must have a certificate in labour based works.
• The candidate must be skilled in road works and plant Management.
• The candidate must have Technical skills in Engineering.
• Must have good management skills and presentation skills
• Preparations and Reviewing of Quotations and Cost estimation of bulk procurements.
