Job Description
Interested in becoming a farmer? Want to be immersed in farm life for a growing season? During the season, you will be asked to do a variety of tasks that may include greenhouse, field and office work, animal
husbandry and marketing.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• propagation: seeding/planting/transplanting
• cultivation & weed management
• harvesting
• farm maintenance
• irrigation management
• preparing CSA boxes
• attending farmers markets
• poultry husbandry and pasture management
• care of greenhouse crops

Job Requirements
• Interest in becoming a farmer
• Attention to detail and quality
• Physically fit
• Able to handle cash and other monetary transactions

Job Details
• Duration: April to December 2012 with some flexibility with dates.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/weeks. Some Saturday market days if interested.
• Wage: Stipend available with room and board, full of our farm fresh food, along with a year end bonus.

About Cropthorne
Cropthorne Farm is a small scale farm located in Ladner. We grow a wide variety of crops, as well as eggs from our happy pastured hens in their mobile chicken coop. We cultivate 3 acres of land as well as growing in a mobile greenhouse. We sell our produce via farmers markets, a CSA and to chefs. We are strong advocates for farmland preservation and are active in our local agricultural community. We are passionate young farmers who love what we do and are excited to share our knowledge with others.
