Job Description:
Corporate Knights, the magazine for “clean capitalism,” is looking
for
a part-time writer and assistant editor (online only) who during the
months of June, July and Aug
ust will contribute online stories, edit
guest contributions, as well as assist with website maintenance and
social media efforts at the magazine.
The prospective candidate should have strong writing and editing
skills, and a general knowledge of local, national and global business
and political issues. The candidate should have strong familiarity
with a variety of social media sites and tools, general knowledge of
Wordpress, and be willing to conduct interviews and report on local
events.
Preferred candidates will have a strong interest in sustainability,
environmental (climate) and social equity/human rights issues and will
understand their broad implication on businesses, national economies,
and society.
Interviews will be conducted during the last week of May and first week of
June.
Please note: This position is expected to become a full-time position,
reporting to the managing editor, in September. The prospective
candidate for the part-time summer position will be strongly
considered for the full-time role if performance meets the
expectations of Corporate Knights. This position would include a
competitive salary and benefits.
