Approximate duration and timing of assignment: Fieldwork resulting in a 40 page evaluation report. To be undertaken in April/May 2012.
Location: Kigali, Ruanda, districts of Gasabo, Rwamagana, Bugesera, and Nyagatare
Background:
The project objective was to achieve a positive behavioral change concerning HIV/Aids and sexual and
reproductive health (SRH) and to improve the living conditions of people living with HIV/Aids (PLWHA) in the East Province and the Kigali-Ville Province. Project duration: 01.04.2009 to 31.10.2011.
Scope of work:
The evaluation should assess the work of the following project areas:
Community Theatre Work
Knowledge, attitude and behaviour change concerning HIV/Aids and related topics
VCT services and their utilisation
Self-help-groups/(agricultural) cooperatives as means of generating income for PLWHA
Social integration, health and economic situation of PLWHA
Criteria/skills requested:
University degree in one (or more) of the following fields: Economics, health, and/or political, cultural, or sociological sciences
Experiences with evaluations of development projects in the health sector with a focus on HIV/Aids
Work experience with local NGOs and Cooperatives or Grassroots-Organizations
Good knowledge of operational management of Income Generating Activities would be a plus
Strong analytical skills and ability to clearly synthesize and present findings in a logical way
Fluency in English and/or French and Kinyarwanda (spoken/written) is a requirement
