Clinical Psychologist Job Vacancy – Neuropsychology – Meath – Dublin

The principal purpose of the job is to contribute to specialist clinical neuropsychology service to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, neuro-cognitive deficits, an acquired brain injury and/or an intellectual disability referred to my client.
Job Responsibilities:
• Providing a Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies service to clients Providing local clinical leadership, co-ordination and supervision for staff and trainees employed by or attached to the psychology service, under the general direction and supervision of the Clinical Director/Head of Department.
• Carrying a specialist caseload of clients, and providing advice and consultancy to patients, family members, carers and professionals.
• The post holder will be supported by the Head of the Clinical Neuropsychology Department and also by senior colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team.
• The post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of others within the service to further develop their clinical skills with these client groups.
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.
• The post holder will receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance with s Continuing Professional Development policy and to Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the Psychological Society of Ireland or appropriate designated Professional Body.

Job Requirements:
• Qualified Clinical Psychologist (D.Clin.Psychol. or equivalent), eligible for Registered Clinical Psychologist Status with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
• Some further training in clinical work with ABI or ID populations
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a wide range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings.
• Broad knowledge and familiarity of children’s residential services and/or intellectual disability services; and of the services in the HSE and voluntary sector where children’s residential and ID assessment and therapeutic interventions are commonly applied.
