Responsibilities

- Provide strategic technical leadership and
expertise to RFHP technical staff, districts, and sites on the
implementation of high quality maternal child health (MCH) services at the
facility and community level - Build on existing tools and develop or adapt
approaches to ensure the efficiency, acceptability, and impact of MCH
services at the facility, community, and patient level - Provide clinical and technical input in MCH to
all program and district health units - Provide technical support in designing
strategies to support service providers in improving access to, and
quality of, MCH services - Review, develop, and prepare project training
and communications activities in maternal and child health - Represent the project at the Ministry of
Health and in technical meetings related to maternal and child health - Participate in project operations research and
monitoring and evaluation activities, and collect and use available data
to inform strategic and implementation decisions - Assist in identifying short-term technical
assistance needs to support project activities and help to identify local
and international consultants as necessary
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in health sciences (medicine,
midwifery, nursing, physician’s assistant, etc.), public health, or
related field required - Five to seven years of relevant experience in
MCH, integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI), and nutrition
programs, preferably in international settings - Experience in capacity building and working
effectively with USAID, government counterparts at all levels, NGO
partners, local organizations, and other program partners - Experience providing assistance to ministries
of health on MCH issues - Ability to work effectively in a diverse team
environment - Strong writing and editing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluent English required; proficient French
