impact of the seresources to savelives,viaimproved organization of commodity
markets and more effective local management.
Byworkinginassociationwithgovernmentsandotherpartners,CHAIisfocusedonlargescaleimpact.Todate,CHAI
has secured lower pricing agreements for treatment options in more than 70
countries.In addition,CHAI teams are working side-by-side with  over30
governments totackle many of the largest barriers to effective treatment and
care.
It
is in line with above that CHAI is currently implementing a nutrition program
in partnership with the      Government of Rwanda and
private sector stakeholders with the aim of contributing to the fight against
malnutrition in Rwanda. This program aims at developing highly nutritive
products which when consumed will reduce chronic malnutrition among Rwandan
children. CHAI will support the Government of Rwanda to ensure the food quality
standards in a way the target populations consumesafe, nutritious and
convenient food products.
SUMMARYOFTHE
POSITION:
The
Quality Officer isexpected to advise CHAI Nutrition Program in developing
recommendations for product development, handling and usage using his/her
scientific expertise in food science.
Job
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct
    researches, analyses and draw conclusions from large volumes of data, to
    support the project team to promote FBF safe handling and utilization
  • Support
    the design of quality control tests and activities
  • Support
    the development of contents for communication and training materials
  • Coordinate
    trainings of the team as well as training of trainers
  • Attend
    and contribute to meetings with partners and Government officials
  • Prepare
    technical reports
  • Support
    theprojectin anyothercapacity, asidentified bythe management team
Qualification
and CompetencyRequirements:
  • Bachelor’s
    degreein food science and technology, food and chemical engineering,
    biochemistry, nutrition, microbiology or chemistry.
  • Knowledge
    of a range of sciences and their applications to food
  • Having
    experience working with food processing or retail companies.
  • Proficient
    in relevantcomputerapplications,particularly MSExcel andWord;
  • Excellentwrittencommunication
    skills;
  • Proficiency
    in written and spoken English required;
  • Demonstration
    of good team working skills

  • Extremelyorganized;
  • Can
    workindependently;
  • Able
    to meetstrictdeadlines;
  • Excellentattention
    todetail and accuracy when handling data
