Cargill Technical Management Trainee Job Vacancy in London

Technical Management Trainee – European Graduate Scheme
Salary: Competitive
Locations: Hull and Liverpool

Cargill is an international provider of food, agricultural and risk management products and services. We are involved in an unparalleled range of activities worldwide and employ over 130,000 people in 66 countries. The processing, refining, production and distribution of agricultural products and food ingredients represents only one aspect of our business, but encompasses an enormous variety of technical challenges and opportunities.

Our Technical Management Trainee scheme is an ideal opportunity for a talented engineering graduate to start a successful career by applying technical expertise, and developing wider leadership skills, in a hands-on environment. We are currently looking for trainees within the UK Operations of our Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain and Refined Oils businesses.

The roles will be based in Hull, or one of our two sites near Liverpool (Brocklebank and Seaforth) for at least the first 18 months. Each site provides a range of technical challenges related to the crushing, extraction and refining of oil seeds and grains. The size of the plants (35-60 full time employees) means a graduate has a great opportunity to become familiar with all the major aspects of a production process, and to work closely with key decision makers. Early on, trainees are expected to be responsible for a significant part of the production process and for the people that make it happen. This means contributing to productivity, quality and process improvements, taking responsibility for health and safety, and developing practical leadership skills.

Throughout the scheme, trainees will also participate in our wider European Graduate Program. This allows recent graduates from all over Europe to meet and participate in a structured series of 2-3 day workshops held in different European cities. These provide a broader introduction to Cargill, and focus on developing vital skills such as effective team working, communication, developing a global mindset, problem solving and decision making.
