eners adopt sustainable, organic production methods. Our
materials include workshops, webinars, certificate courses, printed and digital
handbooks, awareness campaigns and The Canadian Organic Grower magazine
published three times a year.
We’re
currently looking for a full-time intern to join our team at the national
office and help improve organic training resources available for farmers. This
is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in project coordination, learn
more about sustainable agriculture and help shape educational programs for our
organization.

The
intern will:
intern will:
- Review
COG’s educational products and seek opportunities to increase distribution
and availability of COG programming and to expand our audience.
- Assess
organic farmer training in Canada (e.g. workshops, printed materials,
online sessions) and identify new opportunities for COG to develop organic
farming educational materials and programming. Identify farmers’ priority
areas for skills development and recommend where to focus skills
development efforts.
- Investigate
the potential and process for producing 3-6 “micro-learning” videos that
demonstrate organic farming techniques.
- Research
and develop high-quality content for The Canadian Organic Grower
magazine.
- Identify
funding opportunities for COG’s educational products and contribute to
fundraising efforts.
- Other
projects as needed.
Essential
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Excellent
written communications, editing, proofreading skills. - Detail-oriented,
analytical/critical thinking skills. - Proficiency
with Microsoft Office Suite. - Prior
experience in either journalism/research with a preference for educational
research. - Ability
to multitask and handle short- and long-term projects. - Ability
to work independently and part of a team. - Event
or webinar organization. - Strong
leadership skills and ability to form a vision and carry out the necessary
tasks to achieve it. - Knowledge
of sustainable/ecological agriculture systems.
Asset
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Diploma
in Education preferably at the Master’s level. - Experience
in sales or marketing. - Knowledge
of Adobe graphic design applications. - Social
media/website/video production. - Grant
writing or fundraising. - Experience
with Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Candidates
must:

- Be
30 years old or younger at the start of the project and unemployed or
under-employed; - Have
graduated from university, college or CEGEP; - Not
have participated in any other Youth Employment Strategy programs (i.e.
Career Focus); and - Be
a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Salary is $18,600 based on a 4-day week.
