CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Construction Manager (Combined Cycle Power Plant / Duel Fuel) the position is based in Ghana.
REQUIREMENTS
• BSc (or equivalent) in Engineering
• Construction management experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
• Effective project and operational management skills
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction management of combined cycle power plants and / or conversion from simple cycle to combined cycle plants
• Experience in managing EPC full turn key projects
• Experience at a leadership level of supervising a construction team
• IT literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to engage a dynamic team and manage workload ensuring service delivery to business
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize workload for self and team
• Ability to win and build credibility at all levels of organisation
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Ability to be proactive, pragmatic and deliver results
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• The CM’s shall be responsible for the timely and proper execution of the construction works as defined under the EPC Contract, and his responsibilities shall include the following:
• Coordinating the preparation and implementation of procedures to govern the site interfaces between the EPC Contractor, and all parties involved, which shall be agreed by all stakeholders;
• Ensuring the EPC Contractor meets its obligations under the contract for, including without limitation: Schedule progress; Workmanship in accordance with the approved design and engineering Equipment procurement; Documentation (e.g. maintenance of proper site records and drawings); Health and safety; Environmental compliance; Site area security; Interfaces with other parties; Preparing monthly reports, or as required by the Lenders and Owner; Organizing visits to the site as required by the Lenders; Performing all duties in accordance with the policies and procedures and in compliance with the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP);
• Providing guidance to construction inspectors to ensure that good construction practices are being applied;
• Attending scheduled construction status meetings with EPC Contractor;
• Assisting in the preparation of any change order it may be required to make under the EPC contract
