Byumba District Hospital in collaboration with
Gicumbi District and UNICEF would like to recruit a Social Worker to
promote the socio-economic status of historically marginalized groups by
influencing them to their behaviour change and mobilizing them to remain in
place and engaging them in the income generating activities.
The Social worker will work entirely to support
historically marginalized communities in Byumba, Manyagiro and Miyove sectors
of Gicumbi District in the Northern Province.
He /She will work in close collaboration with the
in charge of Social services in the sector and Executive Secretary for the monitoring,
evaluation and reporting of health, nutrition, social and economic activities
for the marginalized communities.
He /She will be under the direct supervision of the
District Director of Health and Social Protection.

The Social Worker will support marginalized communities in Gicumbi district
and will be having the following roles and responsibilities:

 

  1. Provide education for behaviour change in
    favour of progressive health and social practices
  2. Develop and initiate projects that would
    enable them support their families
  3. Ensure training of opinion leaders who will be
    transmitting messages that influence behaviour change
  4. Monitoring indicators that will accelerate
    change of marginalized communities social conditions
  5. Serve as a focal point for mobilizing funds
    that will support welfare of marginalized people
  6. Organize educational meetings with target
    groups for their continuing education
  7. Closely follow up with young people to
    transform a nursery of talent and progressive people to help change and
    improvement living conditions of the historically marginalized communities
  8. To promote sports and cultural activities
    among historically marginalized groups to promote their cultural value.
  9. Submit monthly activity reports to sector
    executive secretary and district Mayor with a copy to UNICEF
The recruitment conditions are the following:
1. To Be a Rwandan by nationality
2. To Have AO degree in Social Sciences or other related fields
3. Good Communication skills
4. Be prepared to work full time with the marginalized communities
5. Having a driving license cat A would be an added value

June 2013 at 5:00 pm. 
The written recruitment exam will be held at Byumba
Hospital on 18th June 2013 at 10:00 am.
