Women
in Business MBA Scholarship
The UK is becoming
increasingly aware of the need to encourage more women to get involved in the
business world.
While the number of
women taking the leap into setting up their own business is undoubtedly
increasing, government
statistics suggest that if UK women were starting businesses at the same
rate as men, w
e would have one million more companies in the country.
Additionally, in
December 2015 it was revealed that only
10% of executive directors at FTSE 100 companies are female.
This needs to
change.
At Manchester
Metropolitan University, we want to play our part in giving ambitious women the
chance to achieve their business goals. Our Women in Business Scholarship will
give two female students the opportunity to win a discount on their MBA course
fees and take the first step on their leadership journey.
What
does the scholarship offer?
The winner of the
Women in Business Scholarship will receive a £6,000 discount on their MBA
course fees at MMU.
We will also choose
one runner up, who will earn a £3,000 discount.
The winners will
join our October 2016 MBA programme. Take a look around the MMU site for
information on our course structure, as well as stories from our
successful alumni.
How
to enter
Full details of the
competition will be revealed here on May 23rd 2016. The competition will ask
for an online submission, to be completed by July 15th 2016.
To be in with a
chance of winning this scholarship, you will need to create a 60-second YouTube
clip advertising a product or service you have innovated.
This can be
something you have invented yourself, or a revision of an existing concept. The
content of your advert is entirely up to you – we’re looking for the most
exciting ideas, so let your originality and creativity shine through.
All you need to do
is send a link to your clip to d.ward@mmu.ac.uk, along with your name and
contact details.

scholarship is only open to female students!
If you are not
eligible for this scholarship, you might want to have at our Northern
Powerhouse Scholarship , which offers potential students a great chance to
earn a discount on their MBA course fees at Manchester Met.
Choosing
the winners
We will whittle the
entrants down to a shortlist of the best 10 submissions, which will be judged
by our panel of Manchester business experts.
The panel will
decide on the winner and runner-up of Manchester Met’s Women in Business MBA
Scholarship.
All the shortlisted
entrants will be invited to a presentation evening at the Business School on
Wednesday, 27th July 2016, where the winner and runner-up will be revealed.
