We are currently searching for a:
SAFETY OFFICER
This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of Bockstael’s Health & Safety programs. As a hands on Safety Officer the duties include:
– Assess effectiveness of existing programs and participate in the development of new programs and approaches to ensure compliance with legislation and company health and safety policies
– Oversees COR audits of company operations ensuring compliance with both government and company regulations and policies
– Conduct incident investigations to ensure that root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented
– Be a clear and visible Health & Safety leader and drive the company’s H & S culture to the highest standard
The successful candidate will possess:
– Post-secondary education, preferably in a health and safety discipline
– CRSP is desirable
– 5+ years’ experience in the construction industry
– Basic computer skills in MS Office
– Experience with COR
– Strong organizational skills, ability to adapt to multiple demands, take initiative, set priorities and achieve results
– Ability to develop relationships while enforcing safety programs and regulations with fairness and integrity
