Key responsibilities
- Support
and manage the Postilion switch product suite (Real-time, Office,
Postcard, etc.)
- Ensure
maximum availability and performance of the Postilion switch system
through continuous system monitoring
- Test
and deploy upgrades, releases and patches to Postilion, underlying DBMS
and operating system
- Assist
with planning, testing and implementation of software upgrades and/or
extensions by consultants
- Troubleshoot
and resolve Postilion-related issues according to incident and problem
management processes
- Perform
administration of the Postilion switch application: control and monitor
users’ access permissions and privileges
- Support
cards solutions and perform ATM terminal and interface certifications with
VISA, MasterCard, etc.
- Support
POS (Point Of Sale), merchant settlement, and reconciliation systems
- Design
and develop custom solutions upon requirement
- Automate
routine tasks and solutions for recurring incidents
- Develop
data extraction tools, design and produce crystal reports upon requirement
- Document
developed solutions and provide user and product manuals where applicable
- Analyze
business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Write
documentation defining used data standards, policies and procedures
- Perform
regular maintenance activities such as disk defragmentation and log
back-up and cleaning
- Perform
regular back-ups of the switch production as well as reconciliation system
data
- Ensure
that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
- Work
hand in hand with system administrators to ensure that hardware resources
allocated to the Postilion application are sufficient for high resilience
and performance
- Communicate
regularly with other technical, applications and operational staff to ensure
application integrity and security
- Research
and evaluate technology trends to support business requirements
- Work
to tight deadlines and when necessary, long hours and be available for
call-out on evenings and weekends
- Provide
training to end users and IT support officers (regional IT, helpdesk) if
necessary
Qualifications experiences and attributes
- Bachelors’
degree in Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized
university
- Minimum
two years of experience in managing and supporting large application
systems, preferably business-oriented and/or EFT (Electronic Funds
Transfer) systems. Knowledge of Postilion or similar financial switch is
an added advantage
- Knowledge
of electronic funds transfer mechanisms and a good understanding of
security and cryptography
- Sound
knowledge of relational database management systems, preferably Microsoft
SQL Server
- Solid
skills in SQL (Structured Query Language) and crystal report design
- Proven
scripting skills in VBScript, ActivePerl or similar; previous experience
with Java or Visual Basic is a plus
- Familiarity
with computer operating systems in general, and Windows Server systems
line in particular, is essential
- Good
problem solving, analytical, organizational, communication and
interpersonal skills are
required.
