The Baillie Gifford Prize Fellowship at
India Institute, King’s College London provides full financial support to
a student on the MRes Contemporary India. Fellowship is open to applicants of
all nationalities. Mid-career professionals are particularly encouraged to
apply. Fellowship is available in all Subjects that fall within the remit of
the King’s India Institute. International students can apply for
these fellowships. The Fellowship, worth up to £30,000, will cover the
tuition fees of the successful candidate, in addition to providing a stipend to
cover living costs over one year for a full-time student (two years for a
part-time student). The application deadline is December 13th
2013.

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for the Baillie Gifford Prize Fellowship at the
India Institute, King’s College London. The Fellowship provides full financial
support to a student on the MRes Contemporary India programme. The Baillie
Gifford Prize Fellowship supports the Institute’s goals of enhancing the
quality of public knowledge and debate in and about contemporary India.
The MRes Contemporary India is a research-track Masters degree that
imparts advanced training to support a student in producing an original piece
of research under expert supervision. Core areas of interest at the King’s
India Institute include: Politics, Public Policy and Political Economy,
 Anthropology and Social Change,  History, Cultural Production
(including the media), Foreign and Security Policy, Science, Technology and
Policy in India.
Duration of award: Scholarships are offered for over one year for a full-time student
(two years for a part-time student).
What does it cover? Total offer is of £30,000. The Fellowship, worth up to

How to Apply: In order to apply for the Baillie Gifford Prize Fellowship 2014-15,
please include a one page statement with the application to the MRes
Contemporary India describing the academic background and where relevant
professional experience also stating how the proposed research will contribute
to the field. Applicants for the fellowship should submit their full
application.
