Atiku: Buhari’s Next Level Campaign contributed to the death of over 100 Nigerian Soldiers

The Atiku Campaign Organisation in a
statement to journalists in Abuja has stated that The Presidential candidate of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar strongly believed
that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election “Next Level” Campaign may
have contributed to the death of the  more
than one hundred soldiers of the 157 Taskforce Battalion of the Nigerian Army
who were killed at Metele, Borno State by the Boko Haram Terrorist Group.

He pointed out that on 18th
November, 2018 when the soldiers where overran by the Boko Haram Terrorist
Group, all the nation’s service chiefs who are saddled with the
responsibilities of ensuring the safety of the country were at the inauguration
ceremony of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election “Next Level” Campaign
rather than concentrating on their jobs. The Presidential Candidate of the PDP,
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar stressed that the “Next Level” re-election campaign was a
big distraction to intelligence gathering that resulted to the death of the
soldiers.
In expressing sorrow towards the slain
soldiers who he referred to as “His Heroes” he has directed all his friends,
associate and well-wishers to send all the gifts that they intend to send to
him as his birthday presents to the family members of the slain solders. He
stated that, he is fully aware that the gift will certainly not take the place
of the lost love ones but just to ameliorate their suffering since the ruling
APC has not even shown any concern about the welfare of the families of the
slain soldier who put their lives on the line to defend their country.
Atiku has also went ahead to decry
the insensitivity of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Party for
failing to issue a statement of condolence to the families of the fallen heroes
in the defense of their fatherland. He said he expected the APC whose Next
Level Campaign was instrumental to the lapse in intelligence gathering on The Boko
Haram Terrorist Group as a result of the fact that all the nation’s service
chiefs where wining and dining at the Presidential Villa when these horrible incidence
occurred; would have come out with a consoling statement to the families of the
slain soldiers to grief with them.
In conclusion, Atiku has called on
Nigerians to evaluate the response of the APC to the death of these soldiers
and choose the right direction to follow in the forthcoming elections.
