Ark Schools Network Lead for SEN & Behaviour Job Vacancy in Central London

ARK Schools –leading education charity and academy sponsor group- is seeking a highly experienced and capable individual to lead the organisation’s strategy and delivery of SEN.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop ARK’s approach to network wide SEN strategies, embed best practice, and assist the academies in establishing on-site learning centres for pupils at risk of exclusion.

Network Lead for Special Educational Needs and Behaviour
ARK Schools is a growing education charity with a network of eight established inner city academies and three more academies opening in September 2011. We aim that all our secondary schools will achieve 80% five or more A*-C GCSEs including English and mathematics within five years of opening from below average base lines – so that every pupil can enter university or the career of their choice by the age of 18.

In order to successfully raise standards across all our schools and meet the needs of our most vulnerable students we are looking for a Network Lead for SEN and Behaviour to join our education team. We are looking for an expert in the field of SEN and behaviour barriers to learning. They will have the opportunity to lead the development of network wide SEN strategies, embed best practice, and assist each academy in establishing on-site accelerated learning centres for pupils at risk of exclusion.

The ideal candidate will have the highest expectations for all pupils, particularly those with SEN and have:
• Experience of identifying, implementing, monitoring and evaluating effective learning and teaching strategies for pupils with SEN in urban schools
• A proven record of improving pupil outcomes where there are moderate to severe SEN and behaviour needs
• Experience of coaching, mentoring and training staff to better support pupils with SEN
• Have a formal SEN qualification/training
