FINANCE / MAINTENANCE CLERK

Nature of the position
Working as part of a team, reporting to the Finance Director, the incumbent will serve as the finance / maintenance clerk for the agency.

Summary of Major Responsibilities / Duties
– Responsible for maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Agency Policy & Procedure Manual
– Work collaboratively with other team members;
– Ability to work independently to meet deadlines;
– Responsible for issuing invoices to appropriate agencies to recover funds for services rendered;
– Responsible for reviewing and ensuring documents (invoices, expense claims) submitted for payment meet Agency’s payment criteria;
– Responsible for maintaining a complete record of all current admissions, their placements, rate of payment to placements and any other changes incurred by the said admissions;
– Responsible for processing and issuing of payments to caregivers via Direct Deposit;
– Responsible for preparation and submission on a monthly basis of reporting/billing packages to the appropriate funding agencies;
– Responsible for reconciling reporting/billing packages as received.
– Responsible for researching disallowed amounts and resubmitting amounts accordingly;
– Responsible for ensuring that inadequacies and discrepancies are brought to the attention of the Finance Director.
– Applying & Cancelling for CSA electronically;
– Applying & Cancelling Manitoba Health and SAHS
– Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications
– A minimum of one year direct experience in Child Maintenance.
– A related post-secondary degree, with an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered.
– Experience in AccPac is a MUST
– Knowledge of, and ability to apply, aboriginal approaches in working with families and children
– Must be a team player, challenged by working in an environment of change, and committed to the aspirations of First Nations Child and Family Services agencies that network under the mandate of the First Nations of Southern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority
– Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, data base systems, email and use of the Internet

All hiring is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. The ability to speak Cree or Ojibway is considered a definite asset.
