Organization: Alternatives Journal Location: Waterloo, Ontario
You are a confident, connected and dedicated achiever with a love for the environment. You know that environmental charities thrive when they have a sound business structure and healthy fundraising arm.
We are a small team with a mighty mandate: to publish Alternatives Journal, Canada’s national environmental magazine, and help raise the level of environmental discourse in Canada through our journal, events and websites. We are a registered charity.
We are looking for a team player to solidify what we have, and help chart the course to where we want to be. Basically, we want you to help shape our organization’s future.
You will be in charge of fundraising, so you’ll need to have grant-writing experience. Good contacts within the environment sector are an asset. Aided by our Audience Development Manager and Circulation Manager, you will run the business side of Alternatives’ operations. You’ll be in charge of budgets, promotions, and online business operations. Knowledge of publishing, circulation, marketing and/or advertising is highly desirable.
This is a full-time position covering a one-year leave of absence. You’ll be based in our office in beautiful and vibrant Waterloo, Ontario, but will also need to attend events and meetings in Toronto as needed.
If this sounds like the job for you, please send your resume and a letter outlining your relevant experience to jobs (at) alternativesjournal.ca by Tuesday, October 4.
We thank all applicants who respond, but only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted
