The Youth Association for Human rights Promotion and Development
(AJPRODHO-JIJUKIRWA) is a Local not for profit making organization
whose mission is to empower youth for Human rights respect and advocate for
social-economic betterment. It operates its activities under three
programs; Human rights and access to Justice Program, governance and democracy
program and the youth economic empowerment.
Owing to the above, AJPRODHO with support from GIZ seeks to recruit a
professional, dynamic, experienced and motivated Rwandan candidate to fill the
position of Communication, Public Relations & Monitoring, Evaluation and
Documentation officer.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Executive Secretary and the GIZ Development
Advisor, the tasks of the Communication, Public Relations & Monitoring,
Evaluation and Documentation officer include:
– Monitoring of all program activities and compiling their
results and impact.
– Communication with the program officers, connecting them
and their program activities
– Improve visibility of AJPRODHO as an organization – public
relations by improving the web page content and keeping it up dated,
responsible for up-date and communication via social media like facebook and
twitter to inform the public about AJPRODHO and link up interested people with
AJPRODHO program staff, develop and draft print media (flyers, brochures, PR
material, calendar 2014)
– Communicate on a regular basis with partner NGOs (RYOF
members, GIZ human rights partner organizations) and give input to improve
communication with present and future donors and partners
– Ensure communication of program staff by regular group
emails, informing of project content and events of mutual interest
– Create a database of all past reports (annual reports,
project reports) and document them in a systematic way on the server,
accessible to all AJPRODHO staff and update the database regularly
– Organize a systematic filing of hard-copy reports and
documents at the Head office, accessible in a logical way.
– Provide training for AJPRODHO staff how to do a common
monitoring of project activities and compile the monitoring reports into one on
a regular basis
– Evaluate the impact of AJPRODHO projects and compile a
report of results achieved
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
– Minimum bachelor degree (preferred a Master’s degree) in
Public Relations, Communication studies, Sociology, Law or a related field.
– Working experience with an NGO or a public or private
institution working with Human Rights promotion is recommendable.
– Experience in Monitoring, Planning and Evaluation as well
as experience in Documentation/ filing of documents is a precondition.
– Working experience in Program management or as
communications officer in charge of public relations.
PRECONDITIONS:
– Fluency in English (written and spoken).
– Full computer competency (social media, web design, power
point, word).
– Being responsible, reliable and proactive.
– Being a person of integrity.
– Availability to start immediately.
WORKING HOURS: this is a full time position with working hours from Monday
through Friday.
WORK STATION: AJPRODHO Head Office located in Kacyiro, Gasabo, Kigali
city.
