The African
Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS, www.nexteinstein.org)
is a pan-African network of centres of excellence for postgraduate training,
research and outreach in mathematical sciences. Its mission is to enable
Africa’s brightest students to flourish as independent thinkers, problem
solvers and innovators capable of propelling Africa’s future scientific,
educational and economic self-sufficiency. The first AIMS centre opened in Cape
Town, South Africa in 2003; since 2011, AIMS has opened additio

nal centres in
Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon and Tanzania. AIMS is preparing to open its 6th
Centre in Kigali, Rwanda. The goal of the AIMS Next Einstein Initiative
(AIMS-NEI) is to build a pan-African network of 15 centres of excellence across
the continent by 2023.

Each AIMS centre
provides an intensive and broad education to over 50 African students each year
and prepares them for leadership careers in academia, governance and industry.
The AIMS educational program relies on top international lecturers who teach in
a 24-hour learning environment.

Manager,
Stakeholder Relations – Office of the President & CEO

Reporting to and on
behalf of the President CEO, the incumbent will be responsible to manage the
administrative, political and cultural relationships and dealings with the
Government of Rwanda (GoR).

The incumbent will
be challenged and inspired by an ever-changing and evolving work environment,
as he/she works to establish, nurture and develop those partnerships that will
enable and advance the networks contributions of education, innovation and
scientific discovery to the Rwandan eco-system.

With your confident
and approachable demeanor, you will be at ease to collaborate with a mix of
internal and external colleagues inclusive of academic, administrative,
corporate, community and political professionals. You have had experience
interacting with contacts in academic institutions, the private sector and
development agencies with prior success managing multiple, time sensitive
demands.

Having closely
worked with Presidents & CEO’s and executive staff, you are familiar with
and have the capacity to anticipate, plan for and take initiative to coordinate
the end to end process of complex travel and calendar scheduling, you recognize
the need for and readily demonstrate your ability to apply sound judgement,
tact and diplomacy and, you superbly articulate your thoughts, both verbally
and in writing, ensuring to suitably represent and manage the organizations
reputation.

This is a full time
opportunity based at the Secretariat office in Kigali, Rwanda.

Do you have
what we need?

· Diploma or
bachelor degree in Politics, Communications, or Business Administration

· A minimum of 5
years’ experience in a similar role; an equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered

· Must be a self-starter
with a proven ability to exercise considerable initiative, judgement, tact and
diplomacy

· Excellent
communications and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work
collaboratively across multiple geographic regions, time zones and cultures
with colleagues, key partners, stakeholders the public at large

· Superb English and
French language skills, both written and oral to articulate thoughts, concepts
and the perspectives of AIMS

· High professional
and ethical standards for handling confidential information

· Demonstrated
ability to plan, prioritize, implement, oversee and manage multiple demands
simultaneously

· Savvy proficiency
with MS Office applications, internet applications (i.e. Dropbox, Skype,
GoogleDocs), relationship management software and social media.
