The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
• Ensure all Barrick Tanzania safe work practices are observed, and implemented in the department of responsibility
• Ensure the preparation and execution of maintenance plans and schedules on the basis of daily, weekly and monthly mining and ore processing priorities.
• Supervising, training, developing and nationalisation of the maintenance team.
• End of month reporting of maintenance performance against plan.
• The quality, cost and timeliness of maintenance activities are critical to the project as whole.
• Ensure maintenance costs are kept to, or below assigned budget.
• Display a sense of urgency to ensure timely repair and maintenance of mine equipment.
• Contribute to the Operations by ensuring that all maintenance activities are planned and completed in a cost effective manner with minimal disruption to ore processing and mining activities.
• Develop and promote a quality customer service to all departments within the mine
POSITION HOLDER’S REQUIREMENTS
• Trade or technical certificate level qualification
• Experience in large open cut and/or underground mining operation or large scale civil engineering projects
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience in a mine and mineral processing maintenance supervisory role
• Expatriate experience in a developing country
• Good working knowledge of maintenance planning techniques/software
• Experienced in current maintenance practices and techniques
• Good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite: dBase, word processing, spread sheeting and the site based CMMS (Pronto)
• Driving ability
