Description: Administrative Intern
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
 Job
Requirement
  • Work
    with the Management Committee (MC) of the ADF under its Chair to establish
    a functional secretariat for the ADF.
  • With
    supervision of the ADF MC, develops policies, procedures, documentation
    and systems which ensure productive and efficient office operation, as
    well as oversees and administers the day-to-day activities of the office;
  • Provides
    assistance and support to the Chair of the ADF Management Committee in
    proposal writing/fundraising, project planning and management.
  • Ensure
    vibrant engagement with members of the ADF to ensure execution of stated
    goals and objectives of the ADF and its programs.
  • Oversees
    the operation of office accounts unit, and plans and monitors
    expenditures; as appropriate, develops and/or coordinates budgets for
    associated projects and accounts.
  • Provides
    assistance in the understanding and interpretation of organizations
    policies and procedures, as appropriate, and ensures that office
    operations are in compliance with policy provisions and standards.
  • Assists
    in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special tasks, and
    projects as appropriate.

  • Passion
    for democracy development in Africa.
  • Ability
    to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Knowledge
    of office management principles and procedures.
  • Effective
    verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range
    of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Computer
    Proficiency (MS Word/Excel) and ability to prepare reports.
  • Ability
    to use independent judgment, analyze and solve problems.
  • Skill
    in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability
    to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on
    sensitive, confidential issues with highest level of integrity and
    professionalism
  • Ability
    to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability
    to work under pressure and under minimum supervision.
  • Attentive
    to details, flexible and adaptable.
  • Basic
    Financial/ Accounting knowledge would be an added advantage
Academic
Qualifications
  • BSc/HND
    in Public Administration, Political Science, Communication or related
    Social Sciences.
  • Prior
    experience in development work  will be of advantage
  • Proficiency
    in both English and  French language will be of advantage
