Our partner lends
equipment to small businesses in Tanzania in order to help create jobs and
increase the income of local people.
The organisation
requires a volunteer accountant to be based in the NGO’s Tanzania office for 4
– 12 months. The volunteer will work with the Finance Director and Training
Manager to develop a financial management programme for customers. This will
include liaising with external providers and potentially assisting with
developing mobile-based accounting software for customers.
Other key activities
will include:
- Assisting
with external reporting requirements, including investor reporting and
reporting to key grant makers - Assisting
with refining internal controls and accounting systems - Training
Tanzanian nationals in proper accounting practice, bookkeeping and
internal controls
Accommodation and a
small stipend to cover living expenses will be provided.
Essential skills:
- Ability
to meet deadlines and work independently - 3 to 4
years’ experience in accounting with knowledge of internal controls and
reporting
